Year 7 Special Events
Special Events for Year 7 and their parents
These events are designed to ensure that you feel that you know what is happening and feel part of the Upton Hall School community.
Wednesday 4 September 2024: The first day of the new academic year is only for year 7 pupils and those in the Sixth Form. This allows Year 7 to be shown around the building, meet some of their teachers and get a feel for the school day without the building being full of pupils.
Parental Drop In: Monday 23 September 2024, 5.00pm to 6.00pm: We introduced this event last academic year. You will have received curriculum information in an electronic format (also available on the website). You will also receive links to some videos put together by key staff. This will be much more convenient for parent to watch when you have time. In order that you can still see staff face to face if you wish, we will then hold a ‘drop in’ on the 23 September from 5.00-6.00pm (Years 7-10). This will be informal but Heads of Year, Form Tutors and Senior Leaders will be available to answer any of your questions. You may just want to say hello and have a cup of tea
Welcome Ceremony: Friday 11 October 2024: This is an opportunity for the Year 7 pupils to present to parents something of what they have been learning in the first few weeks at Upton. They will share their experiences of the Retreat and make their Act of Dedication. A little music will also help the afternoon to be a celebration.
School Mass: Saturday 9 November 2024 at 11.00am While this event is not exclusively for Year 7 pupils, it is very special as it is the first time that they have attended the School Mass, which is a memorable event that takes place each year when the whole school, families and friends gather at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King to pray for each and every member of our school community.
Parent/Teacher Meeting: Thursday 1 May 2025 from 4.30pm to 7.30pm: You will be invited to meet your daughter’s teachers to discuss her progress.
