Year 9 Trip to Liverpool Playhouse – Tartuffe by Moliere. Reviewed by Ellie Morgan, 9H

“On Thursday 24 May 2008 we went to see Tartuffe at the Playhouse Theatre in Liverpool. I really enjoyed it!”

“It was funny, embarrassing at some points and exciting. Although at the beginning of the play it was a little confusing you soon began to understand the family’s relationships and about the characters.”

“My favourite bit of the play was towards the end when they figured out that Tartuffe was in fact the weird liar and that the family proved Orgon wrong.”

“ I think that the whole play was an experience to remember and although it was not in French it gave me an understanding of a French family and the rules they may have had back then!

My favourite character was Orgon because I think he was a great actor and funny but stern at the same time!”

“The scenery was fantastic, the singing at the end was great and the atmosphere in the audience was hilarious. The audience was lively and I think everyone got into the play and reacted when they weren’t meant to which made it even more amazing. The actors laughed and it was funny when they had to try and cover it up!
Overall I think it was a really good play!”
