Applying to join Upton

All students are invited to follow the compulsory element of the Sixth Form Curriculum:

Three Advance Level courses with, in most cases, a fourth AS in Lower Sixth

A non-examination course in Religious Education

Personal Social and Health Education

Careers Education

In addition, students may take General Studies AS and A level.

Required standard

The required minimum standard for a place in the Upton Sixth Form is five GCSE passes at Grade C or above, with at least B recommended in subjects to be studied. If there are more applications than can be accommodated, we will apply the selection criteria outlined on our policies page.

GCSE Grade C (minimum) in English Language and Maths are essential for university entrance.

We can provide advice on other important subject combinations for potential university application.

The school has a full programme of activities and discussions aimed at informing your university and career choices and providing more general guidance for life after school.
