Once again GCSE Results Day 2009 saw our girls achieving excellent results.
29 out of 126 candidates achieved 10 or more A*+A grades, just under one third of the year group.

12 candidates achieved 8 or more A* grades and one candidate worthy of special mention is Sarah Culkin (pictured below) whose outstanding performance gave her 11 A* grades and an A grade in A level Mathematics!

Undoubtedly Upton girls appear to have uncovered the recipe for success!

The delight of the girls, as they receive their results, is clear with smiles all round and in some cases expressions of disbelief but for all there is relief that the nervous wait is finally over!

Mrs Young is thrilled with these achievements and proud of each and everyone of the 2009 Year 11 cohort.
The winning formula which contributed to these fantastic results was hardworking pupils, talented and conscientious staff as well as supportive parents.
We are sure all the girls will enjoy continued success in the new challenges that lie ahead as they enter their post 16 education.
We look forward to welcoming many of them back to Upton to embark upon their A Level studies
in a wide range of subjects in Upton's high performing Sixth Form.
