Upton Hall are part of the School Sports Partnership through Park High School and have gained valuable Big Lottery funding for targeted groups of children who do not readily undertake physical activity during lunch time or after school.
This funding has enabled us to purchase a new trampoline to allow more pupils to gain access to trampolining. It has also enabled pupils to participate in Badminton, Tennis, climbing allowing all pupils to get involved in PE and Sport.
On behalf of all the pupils can we thank the Big Lottery and our SSP for allowing us the funding to promote and provide sports to suit all individuals. The numbers at extra curricular are thriving and the funding has been greatly appreciated!

The Park High Partnership has also given us funding towards the running of Summer Camp. This event was organised as a result of both pupil and parent questionnaires that highlighted the need for school holiday provision.

The Camp held for all young people aged 8-14 years within the local community, was the largest Summer Camp on the Wirral, and was attended by 177 children, along with 24 Sports Leaders. Activities focused upon promoting a healthy and active lifestyle, staying safe during the summer holidays, making a positive contribution to the lives of others and enjoying and achieving in physical activity.

Funding was also provided to pay for children whose parents were unable to afford holiday care, or those with special circumstances. The Camp was also attended by 14 pupils with special needs, and we also provided these with the appropriate level of support assistants.

These children were able to experience working with children from mainstream schools, and benefitted hugely from integration with others. Due to the success of the Camp, we hope to sustain this project into future years to provide a service which is in popular demand.
